Forced hug sessions in the name of diversity only perpetuate the problems that have existed for centuries. It is a fact that both adults and children, regardless of gender or sexuality, like to pick on those they figure are weaker than themselves. Never mind. Instead of addressing the problem with common sense or a good old fashioned fight back attitude, bureaucrats are focusing on turning everyone into Teletubbies. Or if you happen to be so lucky to attend school in Sweden, you may get the opportunity to seriously consider your "true" gender. (Orwell has likely stopped spinning in his grave at this point. Humanity is a lost cause it would seem). The Delegation for Equality in Schools is surely promoting group think, rather than what should be the core of any civilized county. How about focusing on people as *individuals* instead of part of a herd?
I don't think bullies like pink - but many of those wearing pink should surely be considered bullies too. As Mark Steyn notes, it is not always the gay students at school who are subject to bullying. What about the fat kids, the shy ones, the ones who excel despite the system and yet are scorned because they achieve high grades? Do they get a ribbon or coloured t-shirt too?
These days, grading a student on the merit of their work or behaviour is becoming a thing of the past. Let's just give everyone an A for effort and push them out in the work world where they will likely be subject to further training in diversity and acceptance.
