Minipax on the cheap

To paraphrase Thaddeus Tremayne of Samizdata, there is nothing like a government ministry to obstruct and wreck exactly whatever it has been named for — take the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education, to cite just two of the most astounding examples of counter-purpose bureaucracies. So this should work out well…

The Working Group for a Federal Department of Peace is part of a growing international movement to establish Departments of Peace and Ministries for Peace within national governments.
The ministries of contemporary social democratic glop-think are not capable of the same deliberately crude and antagonistic inverses of Orwell's totalitarianism, but a little pretentious wishful-thinking will still go a long way. Not to mention the opportunities for civil servant make-work projects and distribution of tax funds to mediocre intellectualistic welfare recipients.
