Bonne année! A successful New Year's Eve in France…

…only 313 automobiles torched!

Police greeted with relief the total of vehicles set ablaze. Last year, 343 vehicles were reported burnt before the figure was later revised to 425.
This being France, and no doubt in compliance with EU police and media directives, the 313 automobiles don't include another 83 vehicles brûlées par propagation — caught fire by proximity to burning cars.

"83 vehicles brûlées par propagation — caught fire by proximity to burning cars."

The English language term for that is, I believe, 'collateral damage'.

It's okay, they were foreign cars.

uneeda SWAT team ! ... faced with that level of anarchy, a police state would be preferable, since you don't have the guts to have personal firearms and a declared right to defend your property, or even your worthless lives for that matter
