Serpent, meet tail

How many synapses does this have to cross before it gets to the "there oughta be a law" part of the brainstem?

Comment 4 at that post is too good. "The neighbors can get together and buy the house at an outrageously high price thus skewing the market value of their own homes. "

Rubbish.
They should starve the owner down, then buy it cheap.
Then sell it expensive!

...or they can lobby their local legislative representative to introduce a bill DEEMING the price of every house to be 10 gagillion dollars!! Why work for a living when you can VOTE for one?

Wouldn't surprise me. The National Association of Realtors is the #11th top lobbying organization in this nationa.

Get ready for the "Defense of Home Ownership and the American Dream (and saving the children) Act" whereby homeowners are guaranteed to at least break even on sales of their homes.

When Saint Tony the Blair banished toryboomandbust, part of the deal was to 'deem' that most annuity mortgages from the eighties had been missold, so the 'victims' were able to claim state compensation when their annuities failed to cover the original loan.
In other words, these morons locked themselves into a never-never land of eternally rising equity prices, and found themselves victims of their own blind greed; Tony gave them someone to blame, which was useful when he raided £20billion out of Private Pension Funds.
Saint Tony is, of course, a Dark Saint.
