Quote of the day

Tony Blair:

"Democracy is the universal value of the human spirit."
Owls Aren't Wise:
Wha? … Come again? … Bollocks.

How about,
"Democracy is the great destroyer of conscience and integrity. It has nothing to do with the Human Spirit, the Human Spirit is exclusively the property of the individual and any individual that is reduced to expressing himself by putting a cross on a piece of paper is already three quarters dead and should be regarded as some sort of subnormal charity case."

Which is exactly what Tony wants.

I would have thought it was "sex" instead of democracy, but I'm no prime minister.

The statement was intended to delay judgement on the rest of what was said for just long enough to allow that, more dangerous stuff, into our mental processes undetected.
The 'democracy' statement was simply confusing to disguise the stilletto words aimed at the heart of freedom.
The man is a bastard.
