The Book of Red

  1. And the Party was of one voice, and one great national vision.

  2. And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain and called its name Abraham; and they dwelt there.

  3. And they said one to another, Go to, let us build a just society, and rob them thoroughly. And they had gold for stone, and slime had they for mortar.

  4. And they said, Go on, let us build a safe, inclusive and environmentally responsible city and Party;

  5. And they said, Let each divide his gain in two, keeping only the half, that the juice of the iris plant be alms to the sickly; and let us always be scornful of the tribes of Ameriga, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

  6. And the LORD came down to see the city and the Party, which the children of men builded.

  7. And the LORD said, Behold, the Party is one, and they have all one idea; and this they began to do: and after a generation of universal child care nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

  8. Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that all who eat of popcorn and beer may be angered; and that their pronouncements may insult the guardsmen of the city.

  9. So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the Earth: and they left off to build the city.
