What do you expect?

From the London Free Press:

London has applied for 77 officers in response to a Liberal promise two years ago to put 1,000 officers on the street. Three-quarters of the 77 have been hired and the city hopes to get help from the province to pay their salaries.

[… London mayor Anne Marie] DeCicco said the 2006 police budget has incorporated the expected provincial funding. "It's devastating if that money doesn't come forward because our budgets are built around it," she said.
DeCicco is both a politician and a Liberal — what's she doing pretending that she trusts the promises of Liberal politicians?
