Re-anti-news

According to the London Free Press, mayor Anne Marie DeCicco has again scotched any plans to run for the Liberal Party in the federal riding of London-Fanshawe and will instead seek a third term as head of the city council. It will have to remain a mystery for the time being whether such a move would have had any net impact on the ineffectuality or intellectual sum of either organization.

Are you serious that we may have to endure another 4 years of this mayor? I just pray to god that this time we have a good candidate to run agains her. This city has so much potential but yet fails to meet it every year because we continue to elect the worst city officals. I hope that voter turn out increases so we don't have to deal with DeCicco anymore.

We may have a good candidate next time around, but DeCicco has that one all-important qualification for office, name recognition, that the Free Press is unlikely to bestow on a good candidate.

as well, decicco has created more publicity for herself, by saying that she won't run for the liberal seat, but instead run for mayor again...its definately a smart pr move on her part...create the buzz about her, she's good enough for the federal government, but she wants to stay in london...she definately earned brownie points from the fools that actually elect her...damn the free press for reporting on non-news

You make a good point about the publicity. It's incredible that the Free Press obliges her so much. As this story was reported months ago, I can't imagine the justification for repeating it.
