Sunfest '05

I have to say, Sunfest is one of the best features of London. Victoria Park seemed five times its normal size, jammed with people eating delicious food and listening to a huge roster of world music from four stages.

Highs: Tinariwen; $5 thumb pianos; Persian satay chicken pitas.

Lows: A drink merchant who gambled on Londoners not knowing the difference between smoothies and slushies; one hundred identical merchant tents such that you can't find the one with the $5 thumb pianos again when you realize (duh) that you needed more than one.

The JLC is ridiculous and downtown inexorably crumbles, but Sunfest is alright with me.
